Volta is non-profit-organisation that pushes the boundaries of the traditional tattoo scene. We are organizers who provide a platform that introduces people to the world of tattoos in an engaging way.
Our goal is to shape a modern, accessible and socially conscious image of tattoo culture through a vibrant mix of art, music and direct social engagements and connections to grassroot movements.
We are driven by the realization that humanity is facing unprecedented challenges that are and will intensify in the present and near future:
the effects of the climate catastrophe, mass migration, wars, social inequalities, etc.
We're surrounded by these bright and highly inspiring people in so many disciplines that we believe change is for sure possible. Let's gather, let's create and build up a flourishing and way more inclusive society!

WILDLIFE ACTION GROUP MALAWI
https://www.wildlifeactiongroupmalawi.org
Wildlife Action Group (WAG), a Malawian non-profit conservation NGO, was created in 1996 in response to severe illegal commercial deforestation and poaching of wildlife that was going un- checked in Thuma Forest.
The forest was under relentless threat from the huge demand for charcoal, and wildlife was being decimated in the commercial bushmeat and illegal ivory trade. Wildlife populations, including elephants, were almost depleted and some had become extinct, including lion, rhino, waterbuck and leopard. Four local men were employed as scouts and anti-poaching patrols commenced.
Since then, their motto has been „more sweat and less poaching” which captures the spirit, dedi- cation and hard work of their team.
In 2007, the adjacent forest reserve, Dedza-Salima Escarpment, was added to their portfolio in order to manage the protection of wildlife which move freely between both reserves.
Today, the organisation is much larger with the majority of staff being a team of dedicated, skil- led rangers and village community fence attendants. With the creation of community led income generating activities, they are seeing communities turning away from complete dependance on the forest and they are now self-reliant on farming and livestock rearing. Environmental education is offered in all primary schools monthly inspiring the young generation to appreciate nature and wildlife.
Additionally, part of the forest now has a solar powered electric fence surrounding part of the forests offering personal and food security in 4 districts. Their headquarters are situated deep inside Thuma Forest which enables them to keep their finger on the pulse and react to any issues immediately.
Though they still face many of the same harsh challenges which first sparked Thuma’s journey to recovery, we are continuously seeing incredible improvements on the ground. Each and every day, the team strives to provide the highest level of protection for these important biodiversity hot- spots for future generations of Malawians.
