In Februar 2024, I've stayed 4 weeks in Malawi in the region of Salima. I was working on a farm of a friend and was also visiting the people of the Wildlife Action Groupe for some days in the reserve.
Malawi was then in the rain season, so everything around me was absolutely green in a high satured tone. It always impressed me how vivid nature and life can get when there is so much water available.

In between, there was the ghost tree shining through. It had this absolute weird looking with the white bark. I selected leaves of different species and took microscopic shoots. And I used the ghost tree as the pattern on the foulard.
This striking tree, with its pale, ghostly bark, stands as a symbol of resilience and mystery in the Malawian landscape.
The interplay of light and shadow, generates some moiré effects on the foulard, it echoes for me transformation and endurance.

I then added some stripes of intense green to symbolise the immense chlorophyll I had constantly around me.Thank you to all of you who have supported the campaign so far!
