Rooshi, Berlin
Foulard Design:
The design of this foulard centers around the cheetah, an animal indigenous to Malawi that embodies a wild but also balanced nature that was once attacked by human activity. The cheetah is surrounded by four birds usually found in Malawi: the lilac-breasted roller, the bee-eater, the barbet and the bar-tailed trogon. The four birds welcome the cheetah with traditional jewelry representing different ethnic groups of Malawi, and they have encoded within its ornaments messages of hope, wealth and good fortune.
